Gardaí are currently at the scene of an explosion at a location on the outskirts of Bunbeg in County Donegal.
An Garda Síochána has evacuated the surrounding area and the Irish Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal has been requested, the Gardai said in a statement this afternoon. The area has been sealed off.
The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place. The Health and Safety Authority has been notified.
Gardai say that the National Ambulance Service, along with the Donegal Fire Brigade, are also in attendance at the scene of the serious incident.
The Gardai said they are not in a position to confirm any casualties at this time, and no further information is available at this time.
