There is a section on Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) in the Comptroller and Auditor General’s report on the delivery and funding of housing schemes. The AHBs were established under the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992 and there are currently more than 500 although they vary greatly in size.
However, the top ten AHBs account for the vast bulk of the houses delivered and managed by the sector which currently stands at more than 60,000. The top ten AHBs are Clúid, Tuath, Respond, Oaklee, Circle, Co-op Housing, the Peter McVerry Trust, Novas, De Paul and Threshold.
