Forbairt Órga Tearanta have made an application to Dublin City Council seeking to have it confirmed that the continued use of the Clifton Court Hotel on Eden Quay to house applicants for International Protection remains an exempted development.
The application is somewhat odd given that the company has had a contract with the State since May 2022 which runs until May 2032. The contract for provision of asylum accommodation there was reported to be worth €620,000 per annum or €6.2 million over the ten year period.
