There were clips doing the rounds over the weekend of an LGBT Christmas carol service, titled A Celebration of Christmas For All Of Us – We are Family, at St Teresa’s Parish on Donore Avenue in Dublin. Nothing unusual about a carol service of course, but plenty unusual about a Catholic church giving a platform to one of Ireland’s most prominent transgender activists, with what was essentially a ringing endorsement from the parish priest.
Or rather, there should be plenty unusual about it, but it has unfortunately become a less remarkable thing. That phenomenon is exemplified by this parish.
