A priest has died and four other people – including two other priests – left seriously injured after a stabbing attack at a Benedictine monastery in Jaroslaw in Poland today. A 31-year-old Ukrainian man has been arrested.
Two of the other victims are in a “critical, life-threatening condition”, local authorities said. Fr Stanisław Zbojnowicz, a priest at the monastery, died from a stab wound to the chest. Another priest, Fr Marek Pieńkowski, is undergoing surgery after suffering multiple stab wounds to the chest and lower extremities.
