The continued prosecution of citizens for breaching outdated pandemic regulations has been criticised as “extraordinary” by an Aontú TD.
Data released to Aontú following a Freedom of Information request revealed that 29 cases have been dealt with by the courts this year. Four of those individuals received fines for crimes such as attending a house party or failing to wear a face covering.
