One of the submissions made by a local resident on the Dunsink city quarter plan makes the simple request: “please consider only granting planning permission for any private house or apartment sales to individual buyers (and not investors) ONLY.”
This reflects the frustration of many people across the state who, even when they have mortgage approval, find that they are, in reality, excluded from buying a new house or apartment because what the Central Statistics Office describes as “non-household entities” are purchasing swathes of the new residences placed on the market.
