Jason Arday, the former Professor of Sociology at the prestigious university of Cambridge, who controversially resigned in a high-profile row around plagiarism and DEI issues, spoke as a guest and keynote speaker at multiple Irish events, it has emerged – and was paid €2,800 for one event by the Department of Education.
Arday’s appointment has now led to one of the biggest academic scandals in the UK’s history, with Cambridge’s hiring policies brought into question, and Arday accused not just of plagiarism but of being a fantasist who made claims of running 9 marathons with an injured leg, and raising £5.5 million for charity.
