A man wanted in connection with the murder of American mother Jamey Carney is believed to have already left the jurisdiction.
The Irish Independent reported that the suspect (28), who was known to the late Ms Carney, boarded a bus from Killarey to Dublin within hours of her death.
He then booked a flight from Dublin Airport to Turkey, where he is believed to have a network of contacts, on Tuesday morning.
It was also reported that Ms Carney’s death is believed to have been connected to an outburst of jealous rage.
Although Gardaà have launched a manhunt in efforts to track down the suspect, who is understood to be an asylum seeker who came to Ireland in 2024 after spending some time in France, they have not released detailed information about him.
The body of the deceased woman was discovered in her bedroom by her teenage daughter. She had suffered serious head injuries.
Ms Carney was an active supporter of the Free Palestine movement and had posted anti-ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement) videos on her social media account.
The investgation into her death continues.
