Homelessness charity Depaul has called on the Government to ensure that people who have left International Protection Accommodation Services (IPAS) and received leave to remain can access mainstream social housing on a “like for like” basis with Irish citizens and other homeless people.
In its pre-budget submission for 2026, titled Prioritising Prevention, Depaul demands increased funding for the Department of Housing so that former IPAS residents are treated exactly the same as everyone else in the homeless system.
