Yesterday, Justice Richard Humphreys in the High Court presided over another episode in what some perhaps hoped might come to rival the Chancery hearings in the case of Jarndyce v Jarndyce in Charles Dicken’s Bleak House.
The case, as readers who have been following it here will be aware, has to do with an unauthorised development in Brittas, County Dublin. The site, bought by the MacDermotts who own several large IPAS contractors and built on by Paddy Byrne of Branach Developments, was ordered to be closed down before Christmas.
