Ireland is amongst the most religious countries in Europe, data captured by a new report suggests, especially in relation to religious affiliation, religious service attendance, and frequency of prayer. Among western European countries, it is one of very few outliers with a relatively high level of overall religiosity, the report found.
59% of adults across the island of Ireland reported being Catholic as of last year – with 9% reporting as Other Christian or Non-Christian Religion. Just 32% of adults reported they had no religion, one of the lowest in western Europe.
