Militant political opposition to Israel has abated but not ceased in many countries, including Ireland. Although the military offensive in Gaza has officially ceased following the ceasefire there continue to be reports that the region and those forced to flee are experiencing major problems.
At the centre of the ongoing anti-Israeli activism here has been the campaign to force the GAA to cut links with Allianz, the global giant which reported revenue of almost €180 billion in 2024. There were several examples of this over the course of the weekend’s fixtures regarding advertisements for Allianz.
