A four-year-old child is a small, defenceless person: easy to bully and to beat and to torment – and likely easy to kill if the person in charge of their welfare is a vicious and violent monster.
We tend not to think of women in these terms, mostly because statistics have shown women are far less likely to be involved in violent crimes, although Dublin woman, Ruth Lawrence, was found guilty yesterday of the murder of two men, whose bodies were found in the midlands in 2014, in what seemed to be a case of drug dealing that went wrong.
