His Britannic Majesty’s Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, will deliver the budget for the United Kingdom later this month. When she does, she will jack up taxes. It now seems very likely that she will increase income tax – something the Labour Government explicitly promised not to do in its manifesto before the last General Election, just 18 months ago.
