Claire Byrne, you may have heard, is going to Newstalk to replace Pat Kenny, who is going to move his daily show (10 things I hate about Trump) to Saturdays. Meanwhile Kieran Cuddihy is going in the other direction, where he will attempt to charm the nation’s annoyed pensioners and housewives on LiveLine five days a week, though “Talk to Kieran” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it as “Talk to Joe”. The chief loser in all of this is that poor old human bowl of lukewarm soup, Ray D’Arcy, who finds himself out in the cold.
The media have valiantly tried to pretend, in recent days, that this matters. It does not.
