A man who is accused of having murdered his 8-year-old daughter in Wexford last year was due to enter a plea in respect of the charge this morning before the Central Criminal Court in Dublin.
Muhammad Shaker Al Tamimi (35) is accused of murdering his daughter, Malika Noor Al Kattib, and the attempted murder of her mother Aisha Al Kattib.
This morning before Justice Paul McDermott, Al Tamimi failed to enter a plea with his defending counsel, Michael Bowman SC requesting that the case be adjourned until later this afternoon to allow further discussion with his client.
Mr. Bowman said that a psychiatric report compiled in respect of his client had found that he is fit to enter a plea.
