Gardaí have launched an investigation after a man allegedly slit the throat of a ewe who was heavily pregnant.
The alleged incident took place on a farm in County Kerry in the town of Clonkeen, on January 5 at approximately 3.30pm.
A photograph allegedly depicting the man in question was shared on a local Facebook page for the community of Kenmare with the poster saying that it was being shared to raise awareness to other farmers in the area “with farms that aren’t close to home”.
The post has since been deleted.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed that an investigation is underway saying, “A sheep was killed during the incident,”.
