One of the notable things about this election is the extensive focus given to childcare by every party, or to be more specific, the extensive efforts every party is committing to in order to make commercial childcare accessible for everyone, everywhere.
While making reasonable things affordable and accessible is usually to be welcomed, what makes the childcare focus notable, as I say, is the fact that a desire for an alternative to the childcare model of society was very clearly voiced by the electorate earlier this year, and has been expressed continually in recent years, in various quarters.
