An axe attack which took place at a train station in Paris this morning has left one victim with their hand cut off and another with their head split open.
Six people were injured in the attack which took place at Ozoir-la-Ferrière station in Seine-et-Marne at approximately 8am this morning.
After emergency services rushed to the scene of the attack which is believed to have involved several perpetrators, Île-de-France police union UN1TE spokesperson Reda Belhaj told local news outlet BFMTV that the victims were “extremely young individuals”.
French news reported that the incident took place after a “brawl” erupted at the station. It was also reported that the brain of the victim whose head was split was visible.
Local police have launched an investigation into the incident with a motive yet to be established.
French MEP Gilbert Collard expressed his shock on X saying, “A fight on a train at Ozoir la Ferriere station where axes were allegedly used.
“Two seriously injured, one has a severed hand, the other is hit in the head.
Collard added, “It’s becoming increasingly crazy and dangerous to survive in France!”
