This week, Sinn Féin launched their official 124-page comprehensive plan on how the party would seek to reform all aspects of Irish healthcare if they were in government.
Among the many policy suggestions laid out in the document, the party says that “transgender people have a right to gender recognition and the best support and care possible”, and that “gender affirming treatment for adults” should be driven by medical professionals – “not politicians or criminal law”.
