The attack took place at the Mall in Longford town at around 2:30am on the 7th of August in which the woman who is in her 50s sustained serious facial injuries and for which she received treatment at Mullingar’s Midland Regional Hospital.
Gardaí believe the woman was punched in the face numerous times after being confronted in the early hours of the morning on part of a stretch of walkway in The Albert Reynolds Peace Park.
