A poll conducted in the United States this week showed that an overwhelming majority of Americans support what would be an entirely unconstitutional policy: A ban on “Wall Street” from owning private homes and renting them out to families.
Such a policy would be as unconstitutional in Ireland as it is in the United States: The right to private property is enshrined in our constitution. At the same time, I suspect, it might be equally popular here as it is there.
