Two men have been arrested following a stabbing in Tralee on Sunday night. The victim of the ferocious attack, a young woman, is currently in a stable condition in hospital after being stabbed five times during the horror incident.
The two men remain in custody at Tralee Garda Station after being arrested in connection with the vicious incident, which took place at around 11pm last night, Sunday 7 August, in the Ballymullen area of Tralee. The victim is reported to have suffered five stab wounds, three wounds to her neck and three to her back in the terrifying attack.
The woman, aged in her mid-twenties, had to flee to the roof of a building to escape the attack, and was then rescued from the roof by the emergency services.
She was brought to the emergency Unit at University Hospital Kerry following the incident, where she received treatment for a collapsed lung and multiple wounds. Her condition is currently described as stable.
According to Gardai, two men have been arrested; one of whom is aged in his late teens and the other in his mid-twenties. Both are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
A technical examination of the scene is currently underway and gardai have said that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
