This week, Tánaiste Simon Harris described how it was totally inappropriate to bring immigration into a discussion about gender-based violence. On the contrary, he said that really, the “pandemic” of violence against women had much more to do with the “manosphere” – i.e. cultural factors regarding macho men with backwards, misogynistic attitudes towards women.
