“We need abortions” – pro choice protestors sing catchy ditty on road to Belfast

Tens of thousands of protestors took to the streets of Belfast today to protest the imposition of UK abortion laws on Northern Ireland by the dysfunctional Westminster Parliament.

The protest was met by a small counter-protest of pro-choice activists who support the move to introduce abortion, for any reason, up to 24 weeks of pregnancy (which is well beyond the point where a child can survive outside the womb).

Amongst the counter-protestors was a small group of Irish feminists, who took a bus to Belfast to support the decision to introduce the UK law to Northern Ireland against the wishes of Northern Ireland’s own politicians.
