South Korea’s capital has been hit by major flash flooding as this year’s rainy season has caused chaos in central parts of the city including the Gangnam district.

Cars were submerged in some areas, leaving a man trapped on the hood of his vehicle.

Levels of rain are so high that subway stations experienced burst ceilings and platforms were completely filled up with water.

The flooding has caused thousands of euros of damage to businesses, many of which are family operated.
