As I write this piece I am reminded of a clip from an episode of Family Guy. Let me set the scene: a male looking person with long blonde hair in female clothing sits at a bar looking at his phone.
The bartender approaches and says, ‘Excuse me mam, no porn at the bar.’ – the man looks up and replies, ‘Oh it’s ok, I’m transgender.’
The bartender responds with Oh I..I had no idea, do whatever you want all the time’.
To me this is a microcosm of the actions of many trans rights advocates – ‘our subjective view of ourselves is more important than basic reality or your freedom of speech’.
Over the weekend the organiser of Let Women Speak, women’s rights campaigner Kellie Jay Keen, was attacked at an event she was speaking at in Auckland, New Zealand.
You might have guessed that her attackers were part of a counter demonstration made up of trans rights activists (TRA for short).

Only seconds after Keen mounted the stage at the outdoor event one such TRA swooped in and doused her in what looks like tomato soup – not one word of the speech had been spoken.

As video shows the ‘angry mob’ – who seem to have done everything short of wave burning torches – broke through the crowd control barriers and surrounded Keen – a petite blonde lady – forcing her security team to act and save her from a situation which looked like she may have been possibly torn to pieces.
Women’s rights activist Kellie-Jay Keen says she “won’t be silenced” after being attacked by “a mob of 2,000” trans activists in New Zealand.

Keen said she was afraid she was going to die during the chaos that erupted and that she was put under police protection until she managed to leave the country.
#WATCH RNZ's Jordan Dunn captured the moment that Posie Parker was escorted away from the rally.
The counter-protest crowd gathered in Albert Park this morning before Parker's speech, and made a cacophany of noise to drown her speech out.

An elderly woman was also allegedly punched in the face by a TRA in a moment that was captured on video.
Thank you @UNSRVAW , the scenes in New Zealand are staggering, I hope you will be writing to the minister for women @jantinetti to ask what the New Zealand government is doing about this blatant MVAWG pic.twitter.com/rYPKtMPfGk

For some time now words like ‘fascist’, ‘nazi’ and ‘transphobe’ have been used to delegitimise the concerns of those critical of transgender ideology and the practical fallout of the illogical legislation enacted in countries like Ireland in order to legally protect its subjective ideas.
Our own Gender Recognition Act, which came into law in 2015, allows a biological male to ‘become’ as much of a woman as this writer is in the eyes of the law.
Kellie Jay Keen’s signature slogan is ‘Woman: adult human female’ – a veritable dictionary definition that up until about five minutes ago was about as controversial a notion as ‘water is wet’.
Something about this pesky biological fact ignites rage in the hearts of many TRAs whose ostensible message claims to be one of acceptance and tolerance – albeit one sided: we are to accept and tolerate them but we are not to expect this arrangement to be reciprocal.
Keen was taken away from the baying mob in a police car surrounded by officers on foot after the TRAs outpouring of love and acceptance manifested in shouts of abuse, pushing, and some violent outbursts.

Apparently Keen’s Let Women Speak events in which women – adult human females – are given an open mic to voice their concerns about the effects of trans ideology are so controversial they attracted a rather animated one-woman-counter-demo from Australian politician Lidia Thorpe who ended up crawling through wet grass after disrupting Keen’s recent speech in Canberra.

Father Ted writer Graham Linehan, an outspoken critic of gender ideology, filmed a group of TRAs – you guessed it – shouting abuse at a group of women attending a Let Women Speak event in Hyde Park London over the weekend as a number of police officers walked away from the scene.
In a video from inside the gathering, the TRAs can be heard singing , “The only good Nazi is a dead one”, as they circled the women and attempted to censor the gathering by covering some of the attendees in trans flags.
At a time in history when we are being endlessly told that tolerance and diversity are societal aspirations that we should all pledge allegiance to, why does it seem like those who make their disdain for the expression of different ideas known through actions like those shown above are seemingly allowed to, in the words of that Family Guy bartender ‘do whatever they want all the time’.
