Sport Ireland has awarded a €400,000 contract for a media research project on gender representation,which will look at “gender balance, visibility, portrayal, across Irish sports media coverage,” according to a notice posted on Government procurement website, eTenders.
Sport Ireland, which is the statutory authority tasked with the development of sport in Ireland, posted an initial request for tenders in October last year, before posting an update at the end of January that the contract had been awarded to media monitoring company, Isentia Pty Limited.
According to the notice, Sport Ireland was looking to appoint an agency to conduct an “indepth media research project on gender representation, i.e., gender balance, visibility, portrayal, across Irish sports media coverage,” on a contract with an estimated value excluding VAT of €400,000.
Isentia Pty Limited is an Australian media intelligence company that was acquired by UK-based company Access Intelligence in 2021.
