You may have read a piece I wrote yesterday about what I called the performative outrage of certain figures over Elon Musk’s disheartening refusal – so far at least – to program his platform’s AI system, Grok, so that it will no longer allow users to generate indecent images.
I wrote that piece not as a defence of Musk, and if you read it that should have been clear, but as a criticism of how figures such as SocDems TDs Gary Gannon and Sinéad Gibney, as well as the Irish Council For Civil Liberties, seem to have failed to notice that such indecent images are rife on almost every other social media platform.
