The case of the sole suspect in the Parnell Sq. school stabbing incident which took place on the 23rd of November 2023 outside Scoil Mhuire.
The setting of a trial date has been met with several delays due in part to difficulties in respect of completing a psychiatric report in respect of the accused.
This morning Mr. Justice Paul McDermott heard that a psychiatric report compiled by Dr. Mary Davoren is now complete and was submitted to the defence yesterday evening after a “considerable body of records” were examined.
The report which contains Dr. Davoren’s “conclusions” in respect of Bouchakar is to be sent to the prosecution where it will be examined by a Dr. O’Connell.
The DPP sought time for the report to be examined with Justice McDermott putting the case in for mention again on the 23rd of July.
Bouchakar (52) of no fixed abode, stands accused of the attempted murder of two female children, the attempted murder of a male child, charges of assault causing harm in respect of a male and female child, causing serious harm to a care worker, assault causing harm to a French national, and production of a 36cm kitchen knife.
