Disappointment seems to be the universal experience of those engaging in modern politics, but one group who have seemingly escaped that fate are those Poles who voted for national-conservative presidential candidate, Karol Nawrocki back in June, who is now coming towards the end of his first month in office.
The Polish president, to provide some context, has more power than the almost entirely ceremonial Irish office, but much less than the executive authority wielded by the American president. He can veto and introduce legislation (and as we shall see, is doing so liberally), exerts some major diplomatic influence internationally, and appoints certain influential officials among other things.
