Activist and self-described “citizen journalist” Philip Dwyer was today convicted in relation to a breach of Section 8 of the Public Order Act in relation to an incident which took place during a widespread incident of unrest attached to an anti-asylum centre protest in Coolock, Dublin last year.
Dwyer was arrested by Garda Inspector Alan McDevitt on the 15th of July 2024 after allegedly failing to leave the area when instructed to do so by a member of An Garda Síochána.
