Do not be misled by the words that follow. This is a column about immigration. But for the moment, deal with this. Dunnes supermarkets have secretly suspended giving sales-vouchers for grocery-purchases between €50-€100 until after Christmas.
The first €50 gets you a €10 voucher. But, instead of netting you a €5 voucher, the next €25 worth of goods gets you nothing. And Dunnes can get away with this sly profiteering because their shoppers are probably too harassed to notice or care, while not even their staff have been informed: it is all done through a software programme that controls the checkout cash-register. The vouchers for each €25 worth of sales after €50 will be restored on December 27.
