A man who has a history of failing to appear before the courts did not attend the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
Garda Sean Finn told the court that Lukasz Stepian, of no fixed abode, has accrued 13 bench warrants before the Irish courts between 2022 and this year.
The accused’s solicitor argued that her client had just started a new job and did not wish to lose the job by attending court this morning.
Sergeant Niall Murphy questioned the origin of this reasoning for the accused’s absence.
The court remanded the accused in continuing bail in his absence to the 26th of August, advising his council that he must attend on the next date.
