A man has been ordered not to go near Dublin Airport unless he is actually travelling and has with him his passport and a valid boarding pass.
Aleksandras Michalcenko (67) who has an address in Rathoath, County Meath, appeared before Dublin District court this morning to face three charges relating to his alleged conduct at the airport today.
He was arrested at 8:20am this morning and made no reply when charged at 10:59am, the court heard.
He is charged with three counts that he, on the 26th of August at Terminal 2 of Dublin Airport, did impede an authorised officer in the exercise of his duty or fail to comply with directions of same contrary to Sec 48 (9) of the State Airports Act (Shannon Group) 2014.
Michalcenko was aided by a Russian interpreter throughout the proceedings, which were sent to second calling in order for him to retrieve a card with the name of his solicitor on it from his belongings.
Gardaí consented to bail on condition that he “stay away” from the airport unless he has a legitimate travel plan and supporting documentation with him.
It was also requested as part of his bail conditions that he not “interfere with the civilian witnesses” however, ascertaining that these are “not known to him”, Judge Patricia Cronin said that this condition was unnecessary.
