A man has been charged with an attack on a member of the An Garda Síochána who was on foot patrol in Dublin City centre last Tuesday.
Abdullah Khan (23), whose address cannot be published by court order but is in North Dublin, was charged with assault causing harm contrary to 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act and section 11 of the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act for production of a knife on Capel Street Dublin on the 29th of July.
He was arrested and conveyed to the Bridewell Garda station where he was cautioned and charged.
The injured Garda was brought to hospital but was subsequently discharged.
Judge Teresa Kelly ordered that the address of the accused not be published due to “safety concerns” and extended legal aid in respect of him.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court next Wednesday.
