Gardaí have issued a major alert after a car with a baby on board was hijacked in Dublin at approximately 1:50pm this afternoon.
The 5 month old baby girl’s mother was standing outside her car in the Gardiner Street area when a man wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap allegedly hijacked the car with the baby in the back seat, The Sunday World reports.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses with the vehicle understood to have driven off in the direction of Dorset Street.
A Garda spokesperson said, “An Garda Síochána urgently requests public assistance in locating a missing vehicle, Silver Nissan Qashqai Hatchback, registration number 10-D-21328
“This vehicle was last seen in the Mountjoy Square area of Dublin City Centre at approximately 1:50pm this afternoon.
“Members of the public with any information are asked not to approach the vehicle but to report any information or sighting by calling 999/112.”
