Many teachers in Ireland are nervous about using transgender pronouns in the classroom, because they are afraid of “getting something wrong” and being targeted with accusations of “transphobia”, new research has found.
The study, which is entitled “New Foundations for LGBTQ+ Inclusivity in Primary Schools”, was conducted by the University of Limerick, in partnership with the State-funded LGBT advocacy NGO BelongTo. It was funded by a grant from the Irish Research Council.
