By far one of the must frustrating elements of the neutrality debate is the gaslighting denial of politicians who very obviously want to abandon Irish neutrality in pursuit of European integration and global “multi-lateralism”, but who consistently react with shock, denial and outrage when anyone points out that’s what they’re doing.
Speaking in the Dáil recently, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said that Ireland “will stand with Ukraine, shoulder-to-shoulder, for as long as it takes,” adding:
