The weather at home is set to be warmer than Spain’s Costa Blanca this week with predictions that temperatures of 25 degrees could be reached.
As Ireland continues to benefit from high pressure the favourable conditions are expected to last through the oncoming bank holiday weekend.
Met Éireann says the overall outlook for the coming week will be “warm, for most, dry and generally sunny with temperatures in the high teens or low twenties,”
Temperatures for today will be 20 to 24 degrees with the west of the country enjoying the warmest conditions with moderate east to northeast breezes keeping things cooler to the east.
As the dominant high pressure sticks around things will remain stable keeping temperatures “warm, for most, dry and generally sunny with temperatures in the high teens or low twenties.”
Wednesday will be warm, dry, and sunny with highs of 18 to 24 degrees although things will stay cooler in the east where 15 to 17 degrees can be expected.
Thursday will continue the lucky streak with similar temperatures of 18 to 24 degrees with the east missing out again slightly with light to moderate easterly breeze keeping things cooler.
Friday promises to be dry and warm in many places although some cloud cover is expected over the northern half of the country. “Highest temperatures over the western half of the country will range from 21 to 24 degrees”, with moderate easterly winds will keeping highs over the eastern half of the country lower, “ranging from 14 on the east coast up to 19 in the midlands,”
Met Éireann says that current indicators indicate that the sunny weather will continue over the bank holiday weekend “remaining generally dry and sunny” with temperatures climbing to the high teens and low twenties “away from the east coast and possibly reaching the mid-twenties in some western parts,”
