The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) today hosted a conference on anti-racism in the workplace and trade unions that comes as part of a Government-funded project that essentially sees racism behind every slight, both real and imagined, suffered by migrant, or ethnic minority, workers.
Addressed by such illustrious figures in the fight against racism as the anti-racism czar herself, Dr Ebun Joseph and Mark Malone of the Hope & Courage Collective, the conference provides a forum for discussing the ways in which trade union representatives and members can work towards workplaces free of a racism defined so broadly that every office across the country is inevitably tainted by it.
