It’s long been noted that the same people who lecture the rest of us on climate change and Green issues often fail to live up to their own standards. Think Prince Harry in bare feet pontificating about saving the planet before hopping on his private jet.
But the hypocrisy doesn’t stop at nauseating celebrities or annoying aristos, the middle-class attendees who like to flock to events like Electric Picnic are, sadly, equally inconsistent, rapturously applauding the Green sentiments of some millionaire rockstar before leaving a disgusting mess behind them.
This week, Greta Thunberg was given the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury to tell the sweaty festivalgoers that they needed to work together to heal the wounds inflicted on the planet. There is no doubting the woman’s sincerity, whatever about her claims, and she was cheered to the rafters by the milling crowd, who chanted along with her as they fervently sought ‘climate justice’.
“Climate,” she chanted. “Justice”, they roared back, eco warriors to a man/woman/person/other.
Ah Greta, if only you knew then how false their hearts were.
She was barely off the stage when they were back to inflicting fresh wounds on the planet, and leaving a disgusting mess behind them (again), like spoilt children unable to tidy their rooms.

It was, unexpectedly, the same as in previous years. Bewilderingly, those attending seemed to think it was ok to dump their trash everywhere because someone else was going to pick it up. ‘They have, loike, poor people to clean up man.”

Seriously, what kind of an adult thinks its ok to walk off and leave anywhere in this state? They should have been honest enough to give poor Greta their real answer – as evidenced by their actions.
“Climate”. “We don’t give a rats as long as we can enjoy ourselves”.
“Climate”. “We’re better than everyone and we love virtue signalling but there is no way I’m taking that scuzzy tent home or picking up my own cans when some poorly paid immigrant can do it for me.”
“Climate.” “Justice – well maybe for some people anyway. Probably me”.
