An Garda Síochána is “structurally biased” and requires organisation-wide training to address its own prejudice, according to Deputy Garda Commissioner Shawna Coxon – but members of the public and the media are not allowed to see the training materials.
The comments were made in response to a question from Gript during a recent Q&A press conference on the release of the “Transforming An Garda Síochána 2018-2024” report, during which Garda Commissioner Drew Harris and Deputy Commissioner Coxon took questions on diversity, inclusion and internal training, among other things.
