A woman aged in her 40s has died following a crash that took place in County Meath this morning.
The early morning two-car collision also left a teenage girl with serious injuries. The teenager was airlifted to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for treatment following the crash, which took place at 7:45am on the N51 at Boyerstown.
Both the woman who died and the teenager were passengers in the same car.
The driver, and a third passenger, both of whom are also female, were brought by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda with serious injuries after Gardaí and emergency service rushed to the scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the second car was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The N51 at Boyerstown has been closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí have issued an appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N51 at Boyerstown between 7:15am and 8:00am on Thursday 12th March 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
