Radical eco-protestors from the extremist group Extinction Rebellion have broken into a UK oil refinery which supplies 20% of the UK’s fossil fuels, scaling the silos in protest.
The group, which included two British Olympians, chained themselves to a pink boat blocking the entrance to the Fawley ExxonMobil oil refinery in Hampshire, England, preventing anyone from entering.
Meanwhile, other protestors cut through the facility’s electric fence, climbing two 50ft oil silos, and unfurling banners that read “climate emergency” and “no future in fossil fuels.”

The action comes as the UK is just recovering from a crippling fuel shortage due to global supply-chain issues.
