A woman in her 40s has been arrested in connection with a series of robbery incidents in the Ballincollig area of Cork City yesterday evening.
According to a statement, gardaí attended the scene following report of a robbery at a premises in Ballincollig at approximately 10:15pm.
A woman entered the premises brandishing a suspected imitation firearm and threatened staff.
Gardaí responded later that evening to report of a separate incident of robbery in Ballincollig.
A female brandishing an implement threatened an individual, and a quantity of cash was reported to have been taken.
A woman in her 40s was subsequently arrested in connection with the investigation, and is currently detained at a garda station.
An imitation firearm and a number of bladed implements were recovered, according to gardaí.
Investigations are ongoing, and gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.
Any person who was travelling in the Ballincollig area yesterday evening between 9:30pm and 10:30pm is asked to contact investigating gardaí, as are road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam).
