There are troubling forms of behaviour Irish politicians are uniquely quick to engage in compared with their counterparts elsewhere: restricting responses to their posts on certain social media platforms, and blocking users that they find unpleasant.
It seems to me quite an egregious violation of both free expression and access to information – especially in the case of sitting Government ministers doing the blocking – so it’s a matter I’m endlessly surprised to find receives little to no notice or commentary elsewhere.
