An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a woman’s body in unexplained circumstances at a house in Ballincollig, Cork City.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the discovery of the body of woman, aged in her early 30’s, this evening, Friday 13th March 2026.
Nobody else was in the house at the time the woman’s body was discovered deceased at the scene.
It is understood that the death of the 32-year-old woman is being treated as suspicious.
The woman’s body was found at a house at Innismore Park in Ballincollig at around 5.30pm this evening.
Her body is expected to be conveyed to the morgue at University College Cork this evening, for post-mortem examination tomorrow, Saturday 14th March 2026.
Gardaí say that the results of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.
The area was sealed off and will be subject to a forensic and technical examination by Scenes of Crime Cork City.
The coroner has been notified while investigations are ongoing.
A Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been assigned to support the family of the deceased.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
Anyone who was in the Innishmore area of Ballincollig, Co Cork between 3:00pm on Thursday 12th and 5:30pm this evening, Friday 13th March 2026, and who may have camera footage (including home security and dash-cam footage) is asked to provide this footage to investigating Gardaí.
