Ashling Murphy’s boyfriend Ryan Casey has reportedly described his girlfriend’s killer, Jozef Puska, as “pure evil,” and warned of the Slovakian national’s “day of reckoning” before God.
Journalist Michael Doyle reported that giving a victim impact statement in the Central Criminal Court today, Casey turned to Puska and said “When your day of reckoning comes, may you be in hell a half hour before God even knows your dead.”
In one of the most powerful and emotion-filled victim impact statements the Central Criminal Court has ever witnessed, Ryan described Puska as "pure evil" and someone who should never be let #AshlingMurphy

Describing to the court how he and 23-year-old schoolteacher Murphy had met, and their plans for each other, he said that Ireland was “not safe anymore,” and asked: “How can someone come to this country, get social housing, social welfare, not hold down a job of any description and never contribute to society for 10 years?”
“10 years?”, he continued. “This is not the country that Ashling and I grew up in and once loved.”
Casey went on to describe Puska as “the lowest of the low,” and “a waste of space”, calling his girlfriend’s murder “horrific and senseless.”
After the half hour address was concluded, Justice Tony Hunt reportedly said that while he would normally say a few words, “in this case I’ve nothing to add,” and said that in all his years in the court he didn’t believe he had heard a victim impact statement “so impactful.”
He said that judges should have a contribution to minimum sentencing, and that he would consider a whole life order as in present in the UK if the option was available.
